Terms of Service, EULA, Refund Policy & Privacy Policy
1. Terms of Service & End User License Agreement (EULA)
1.1 License Grant, 2-Seat Entitlements & Version Updates
VideotronicMaker grants the original purchaser ("Licensee") a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run VTM Studio in binary executable form, subject to the following terms:
- Per-Seat Allocation: Each commercial license key authorizes activation on up to two (2) active physical machines owned or primarily operated by the Licensee (e.g., a primary workstation and a secondary laptop or single-board computer).
- Version-Scoped Updates: Your purchase includes free maintenance and patch updates within the version you purchase. It does not include free upgrades to future major versions.
- Concurrent Use: Concurrent operation across more than two machines simultaneously under a single key is strictly prohibited.
1.2 Commercial Pack Tiering & Entitlements
Access to specific workbench modes and capabilities is determined by the purchased commercial tier:
- Tier 1 — Maker Pack ($9.99 launch / $29.99 regular): Includes core workbench modes (Chat Mode, Mag Mode, Reference Mode, Spec Mode, Layout Mode, Code Mode, Vision Mode, Audio Mode, Mixer Mode, Image Mode, Maker Log, Favorites Mode, and Music Mode) plus ARC, VAS-X Sidebar AI, Cloud AI connectors (Google Gemini & Groq via user-supplied API keys), and Local Edge AI chat.

1.3 Restrictions on Reverse Engineering, Decompilation & AI Cloning
Licensee expressly agrees NOT to:
- Decompile or Disassemble: Decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, decrypt, de-obfuscate, unpack, or attempt to derive source code or underlying algorithms from VTM Studio’s compiled binaries, object code, or application packages.
- AI Scraping & Automated Cloning: Ingest, scrape, or pass VTM Studio binaries, application files, interface layouts, or routines into artificial intelligence models, LLM agents, or automated decompilation tools for the purpose of cloning, replicating, or redistributing competing software.
- Asset Ripping: Extract, scrape, or redistribute proprietary VideotronicMaker application assets—including original audio tour recordings, 3D component models, circuit vector libraries, or Mag Mode guide layouts—outside the application. (Third-party open-source software and Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International components remain governed by their respective upstream licenses in
LICENSES.txt, and nothing in this Agreement restricts your rights under those third-party licenses.) - License Tampering: Modify, bypass, defeat, or tamper with the hardware license validation engine, device seat verification, or software update mechanisms.
- Redistribution: Distribute, sublicense, rent, lease, or publicly host license keys or installer (
.dmg,.deb,.exe) packages.
1.4 User Intellectual Property & BYOK Cloud AI
100% User IP Ownership: You retain 100% full ownership, copyright, and commercial rights to all intellectual property you create using VTM Studio—including Arduino C++ sketches written in Code Mode, circuit diagrams and vector layouts created in Layout Mode, and project documentation recorded in Log Mode. VideotronicMaker claims zero ownership over your personal projects, inventions, or hardware designs.
Third-Party AI Services (BYOK & Internet Requirement): VTM Studio integrates Cloud AI reasoning providers (Google AI Studio Gemini API and Groq Cloud), which require an active internet connection and the Licensee's own API keys ("BYOK"). Licensee is solely responsible for any third-party API usage or quotas. AI-generated code or circuit suggestions are assistive and must always be verified before wiring physical hardware.
2. Hardware & Electrical Safety Liability Disclaimer
2.1 Inherent Prototyping Risks
VTM Studio is an interactive physical computing and robotics workbench designed to interface with external microcontrollers, USB serial ports, servo motors, sensors, and electronic breadboards. Physical electronics and robotics prototyping carries inherent risks of component damage, short circuits, electrical hazards, and mechanical pinch points.
2.2 User Verification Responsibility
- Voltage & Pin Verification: Always verify the operating voltage and pin ratings of your boards, headers, and sensors (such as 1.8V, 3.3V, and 5V rails) and use appropriate level-shifting hardware before applying power.
- External Actuator Power: Use appropriately rated external power supplies with a common ground when driving servo motors or high-current loads to avoid overloading host computer USB ports.
- Mechanical Clearance & Code Review: Operate moving mechanisms in clear workspaces and inspect all firmware code prior to uploading to hardware.
2.3 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VideotronicMaker and its founder (Tishin Padilla) shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from damaged hardware, microcontrollers, actuators, sensors, power supplies, connected host computers, electrical short circuits, thermal events, or mechanical injury from moving hardware.
VTM Studio is educational and experimental maker software. It is NOT certified for life-critical, medical, industrial automation, or aerospace control applications.
3. Digital Goods Refund & Cancellation Policy
3.1 Solo-Maker Digital Delivery — All Sales Are Final
VTM Studio is built and maintained by one independent maker and delivered immediately upon purchase as downloadable digital software.
- Provided As-Is & All Sales Final: Because the software and license key are delivered immediately as a digital download, please explore the Mag Mode Brochure and System Requirements before purchasing. All digital software sales are provided as-is and are final once a purchase is completed and a license key is issued.
- Statutory Digital Delivery Waiver: By completing a purchase through Stripe or our authorized storefront checkout, the purchaser expressly consents to immediate digital delivery and acknowledges waiving any statutory right of withdrawal or cooling-off period under applicable digital consumer directives.
3.2 Hardware Expectations & Pre-Purchase Review
Please verify your target hardware against our published specifications prior to purchase:
- Minimum vs. Recommended Hardware: Single-board computers (Raspberry Pi 4B, Arduino UNO Q) and older Macs represent minimum system requirements; running full VTM Studio with all packs loaded will run slower on SBCs than on recommended desktop hardware (8–16 GB RAM and SSD).
- Edge AI GPU Requirement: Local Edge AI GGUF models require strong GPU acceleration. On CPU-bound SBCs and older Macs, local LLMs run very slowly, and Cloud AI (Google Gemini or Groq with internet connection) is recommended.
3.3 Non-Refundable Scenarios
Refunds, returns, or exchanges are not issued for:
- "Change of mind" or purchasing the wrong commercial pack by mistake (pack upgrades only charge the price difference).
- Lack of optional external physical hardware (such as not owning a robotic arm, USB camera, or microcontroller board).
- Performance expectations on minimum-spec hardware, single-board computers, or CPU-only Local Edge AI LLM execution.
- Inability to use third-party Cloud AI features due to lack of internet connectivity or customer-side Google Cloud / Groq API quota limits.
- Attempts to operate on unsupported or unverified operating systems, or shared/leaked license keys that violate the 2-seat policy.
3.4 Chargebacks & License Revocation
In the event of a billing dispute or payment reversal, the associated license key is permanently revoked and deactivated on the verification server, releasing all bound machine seats and terminating future access for that key.
